40 percent of the food produced in the U.S. is wasted while 1 in 7 Americans are food insecure. According to the NRDC, taking just 30 percent of the food wasted is enough nutrition to feed the entire American hungry population. We produce enough food to feed everyone, we just need to connect the two endpoints. Rescuing Leftover Cuisine brings unsold product food from restaurants, catering companies, and cafes to the hungry who rely on food assistance programs to eat.
